Education Min. threatens schools' political action

The division for religious education at the Education Ministry informed the Jerusalem Post that with the exception of election day, "in any case in which the division for religious education will be informed of students being dismissed in the middle of the school day to participate in political activities, the Ministry will consider taking steps against those institutions." The Ministry's response came following the call of religious Zionist rabbis and educators last Thursday to close all high schools, yeshivot and ulpanot ahead of elections and send students out to campaign against Kedima, Labor and other parties that support territorial compromise.
