Education Ministry to open inquiry into 8 year-old's death

The Education Ministry announced on Sunday that it would open a commission of inquiry into the death of an eight-year-old boy who collapsed at the beginning of a gym class in aGivat Ze'ev elementary school on Sunday. The boy, who's name has not been released, was immediately evacuated to Sha'are Zedek hospital in Jerusalem after collapsing, where doctors tried unsuccessfully to save his life. His funeral was held Tuesday in Givat Ze'ev. "The Education Ministry expresses its deep sorrow and joins the family's mourning over the death of their son," read a statement from the Education Ministry, which was released on Tuesday. "Ministry employees have made themselves available to assist the family in any way during this difficult time and to stand at their side at every moment."
