Ex-MK Baram impressed by Barak, but won't support

Former MK Uzi Baram on Sunday had surprising praise for former prime minister Ehud Barak after the latter's announcement that he planned to run for Labor Party chairman. Baram, a long-time Barak critic who has been considered one of current Chairman Amir Peretz's close advisers, told Army Radio in an interview that he had been impressed with how the former prime minister had "softened" and increased his readiness for teamwork. Despite the meeting, however, Baram said he did not plan to support either candidate. "A man like me - when he doesn't think Amir Peretz should be the party's chairman, this carries weight. He knows I don't support him. I haven't decided whom I'm going with, but I'm not going with Ehud Barak.
