Fisherman held in connection with massive fish poisoning in Kinneret

Police arrested a fisherman in his thirties for alleged involvement in poisoning thousands of fish in the Kinerret over the weekend. On Saturday tens of thousands of dead fish were found in the Kinneret marina, and police suspected that the poisoning was an act of revenge following a dispute on fishing areas owned by rival fishermen. Allegedly, the suspect poisoned the fish in his rival's marina after the latter had trespassed on his own territory. Health Ministry inspectors spent the last 24 hours thoroughly examining fish-selling stands in the North. The Health and Agriculture Ministries issued a strong warning not to eat fish fished in the Kinneret.
