Forests go up in flames as fires rage across Galilee in heat wave

Firefighters on Wednesday were working to extinguish two large brushfires in the Western Galilee, one in Acre's southern industrial zone and the second near the village of Majd el-Kurum. Since early Wednesday morning, firefighters have been working to control approximately 17 fires in the Galilee caused by the hot, dry weather. Ten fires across the country have already been successfully controlled by firemen. Ten dunams of land near Kiryat Haim and five dunams of Carmel forest have gone up in flames over the course of the day.
