Former minister Sarah Doron dies at 88

Doron was a minister without portfolio and MK from 1977 to 1992.

Sarah Doron, a former Likud minister without portfolio and MK (1977-1992), died on Wednesday at the age of 88.
Doron had served since 1988 as volunteer chairman of the executive of Maccabi Health Services and in the last three months as honorary chairwoman.
She will be replaced temporarily at the health fund, which has 1.9 million members, by Prof. Moshe Revah, former director-general of the Rambam Medical Center. Revah praised her for serving as “a pillar of the health system with her leadership and management values, but especially her mercy and respect for people.”
Health fund director-general Dr. Ehud Kokia added that “it will be hard to imagine Maccabi without Sarah. She had an incredible ability to enlist people to lead a complicated organization while she accessed the best in us all.”
Doron is survived by her husband, Aharon, and grandchildren Guy and Ron.
