The office of French President Nicolas Sarkozy said he will co-chair a summit meeting in Egypt to discuss the Gaza crisis.
Sarkozy will chair Sunday's meeting in the Red Sea resort Sharm e-Sheikh along with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. He will then travel to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, the French leader's office said in a statement Saturday.
The German government said Chancellor Angela Merkel will also attend. The French statement said British Prime Minister Gordon Brown will also attend, but Brown's office has not confirmed this.
