Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann refused on Sunday a request by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to issue a statement supporting Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz following the public outcry over Mazuz's decision to offer former president Moshe Katsav a plea bargain, Channel 10 reported.
Neither Olmert's nor Friedmann's offices responded to the report, Channel 10 said.
