Friends of the IDF raise $12.5m this week in US

Friends of the IDF (FIDF) collected $12.5 million in two gala dinners this past week in Miami and New York. IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz was the keynote speaker at the main event in New York on Tuesday night and gave the audience of 1,200 a survey of the current security situation in Israel. Former chief of staff Lt.-Gen. (res.) Moshe Ya'alon was the main guest at the FIDF dinner in Miami. "The amount collected is unprecedented," said head of FIDF Maj.-Gen. (res.) Itzik Eitan. "It demonstrates the unbelievable relationship the army has with the US Jewish community."
