The Education Ministry will fund 40 percent of the cost increase of students' March of the Living trips, the ministry official in charge of the Poland trips, Yossi Levy, said Tuesday. Levy told Israel Radio that the funding would amount to about NIS 500 for every student. The announcement followed reports that some 1,000 students had canceled Poland trips this year because of price increases. Shlomo Ben Sasson, vice chairman of the National Parents Association, praised the announcement. He told Israel Radio that Israel must make it possible for every student to attend the trips to the death camps because "without honoring the past we will have no future."
