Gov't-sponsored program launches scheme to curb Bat Yam youth drinking
By YAAKOV LAPPIN
The City Without Violence program, which is sponsored by the Public Security Ministry, is set to launch a pilot scheme aimed at curbing youth drinking in Bat Yam.
The program will see cameras used to monitor drinking in pubic places, a check of kiosks by police as part of a bid to end the selling of alcohol to underage youths, and a parent patrol of neighborhoods.
If successful, the program will be applied in other cities.
