Half a kilogram of heroin and other drug-related equipment was impounded in Jaffa, police reported on Monday.
In a joint operation by detectives of Yiftah District Police and fighters of the Ofir border patrol unit, 218 gm. of heroin divided in 187 sachets and an additional nylon bag containing 344 gm. of heroin were found stashed in a residential building on Kedem Street in Jaffa.
The drugs and additional equipment were found hidden in a fuse box in the lobby of the building. A 40-year-old resident of the building was arrested and taken for questioning in the Yiftah District headquarters.
