Hamas representatives to head to Cairo for Schalit talks

Hamas representatives will head to Cairo on Tuesday to discuss the issue of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit as well as the Gaza truce and the opening of the Rafah border crossing, Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk was quoted as saying by the London based newspaper Al-Hayat on Monday. Meanwhile, Egyptian sources told the Bahrain daily Al-Ayam that Cairo was interested in stabilizing the cease-fire and renewing negotiations over Schalit's release before the start of Arab League-mediated reconciliation talks between Palestinian factions. The Egyptians estimate that bolstering the truce and making progress on the Schalit issue will positively contribute to the success of the Fatah-Hamas talks, said the newspaper.
