Hamas said they plan to demand the release of Ahmed Saadat, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group, in exchange for captive IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, Israel Radio reported overnight Thursday.
According to the report, Hamas announced that Saadat would be at the top of the list of Palestinian prisoners whose release they will demand in exchange for Schalit.
An IDF military court on Thursday sentenced the PFLP leader to 30 years in prison on charges of leading a terror group, despite the fact that he was acquitted earlier of planning the assassination of Minister Rehavam Ze'evi in 2001.
