Hanegbi seeks to open Knesset c'tees to media

Chairman of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Tzahi Hanegbi, announced at a press conference on Wednesday that would seek to change the Knesset Basic Law in order to make all Knesset committees open to the media. Until now, the FADC and the Knesset's Ethics Committee have been closed to the press due to the appearance of senior Intelligence and IDF officials. The media obtains its information later from those who attended the meetings. Hanegbi said that the decision, which is based on American law, was in order to strengthen the relationship between the public and Israel's highest elected officials.
