Illegal structure containing Torah scrolls removed from Homesh site

IDF soldiers and police forces on Friday removed an illegal structure containing Torah scrolls from the site of the former Samaria settlement of Homesh. Two right-wing activists who tried to enter the area, which had been declared a closed military zone, were arrested by Judea and Samaria Police. The Homesh Organization said the structure had been used as a study hall for four months and was destroyed without notice. The group said the structure would be rebuilt in a matter of days. The National Union called the move "severe," and said that that next government would act to restore Jewish presence to Judea and Samaria.
