Israel enables transfer of humanitarian aid into Gaza Strip

Kerem Shalom, Karni, Nahal Oz and Erez crossings opened on Wednesday enabling the transfer of humanitarian goods into the Gaza Strip, a statement released by the Israeli Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) read on Wednesday evening. Throughout the day a total of 181 trucks with 5,221 tons of supplies donated by Turkey, Jordan and Canada made their way into the Strip. At Karni, 3,600 tons of different types of grain and legume were transferred via the conveyor belt, including wheat, chickpeas, lentils and animal feed, the statement continued. Also, 456,000 liters of heavy duty diesel and 163 tons of domestic gas were transferred to the Gaza Strip via Nahal Oz fuel depot, said the statement. In addition, 232 dual nationals were evacuated from Gaza to Jordan via Erez at the request of their governments. According to COGAT, since the beginning of the military operation in the Strip, 53,647 tons of humanitarian supplies have been transferred to Gaza on 2,084 trucks. Also, 3,162,351 liters of fuel have been conveyed through Nahal Oz and Kerem Shalom crossings. A total of 681 dual nationals were evacuated on three different occasions.
