Israel Prize for soldier who refused Halutz's hand

The World Center for the Rescue of the Nation and the Country, a right-wing group associated with the Chabad movement, called on Tuesday to award the Israel Prize to St.-Sgt. Hananel Dayan-Meged, the hesder soldier who refused to shake hands with IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz at a ceremony at Beit Hanassi earlier this year.
Dayan-Meged, who refused the handshake in protest of the disengagement, was discharged from the IDF shortly after the incident.
