The body of Omri Lahad, a 23-year-old Rosh Pina resident, was identified in Peru on Tuesday. Lahad, who went missing about a month ago, had apparently died from a snake bite. Although his body was found almost a month ago near the Brazilian border, it was only identified after a photograph was circulated around Peru. Israeli representatives in Peru were organizing for his remains to be returned. In July, the body of Galit Sasson, a 23-year-old Israeli hiker from Nes Ziona who went missing in Peru after falling into a ravine, was recovered. In September last year, the body of Tomer Ahuan, 23, from Rishon Lezion, who went missing in Peru during a rafting expedition, was identified after being found two weeks earlier.
