A Kassam rocket was fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip Saturday night, hours after the PLO executive committee authorized the Palestinian Authority to enter into proximity talks with Israel.It was the first rocket launched from Gaza in over a month. The Kassam exploded south of Ashkelon, causing no casualties or damage to property. Warning sirens were sounded in the area. Police and IDF troops were scouring the area for the rocket.Israel has in the past responded with air strikes to rocket attacks from Gaza. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has vowed to respond to every such attack.
