Knesset legal adviser rejects Kadima appeal to postpone gov't inauguration

Knesset legal adviser Nurit Edelstein on Tuesday rejected an appeal by the Kadima faction for Speaker Reuven Rivlin to postpone the evening's official inauguration of the new government. Kadima had claimed that Likud's signed coalition agreements had not been properly submitted to the Knesset secretary, as is required by law, and that the deals had not been fully disclosed. Kadima faction head Yoel Hasson said the coalition deal signed with Shas was submitted to the secretary's office in the middle of the night and that agreements with United Torah Judaism still had not been revealed, even though they had apparently already been signed.
