Labor MK serves for only eight hours

Labor MK Effi Oshaya joined the Knesset on Wednesday morning at 10am when Haim Ramon's resignation took effect. He quit just eight hours later when he sent in his resignation letter, which will take effect on Saturday night. Oshaya said it would be improper for him to receive a salary from the taxpayers for two months of not working. He is set to be replaced on the list by 77-year-old Tovah Ilan of Meimad. If she declines entering the Knesset, she would be replaced by recently fired Labor strategist Ronen Tzur.
