David Landau has been replaced as editor-in-chief of the Ha'aretz daily, according to an item on the paper's Web site posted late Tuesday night. His replacement is Dov Alfon, who has held several editorial positions at Ha'aretz, and most recently served as editor-in-chief of the Kinneret Zmura-Beitan Dvir publishing house. Landau took over as editor-in-chief four years ago, after serving in the same position of the paper's English edition. The British-born journalist is a former managing editor of The Jerusalem Post. Landau will continue to serve on the Ha'aretz editorial board.
