The lethal H5 strain of the bird flu was positively identified on Friday afternoon in the moshav Sde Moshe in the Lachish area.
Earlier in the day, the virus was also located in turkeys in the southern kibbutzim of Holit and Ein Hashlosha, and in the Jerusalem-area kibbutz of Nachson. The infected flocks were to be killed on Sunday.
