Lieberman: Party is free agent if outposts cleared
By JPOST.COM STAFF
Israel Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman said on Tuesday that if Prime Minister Ehud Olmert implemented a program to evacuate settlements, Israel Beiteinu would no longer be obligated to follow government policy.
Speaking in an interview on the Knesset Channel's "House of Lords" program, Lieberman said his party would not take part in any convergence process, nor "any variation of convergence."
Referring to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's Monday speech in Sde Boker on the vast concessions Israel was prepared to make for peace, Lieberman noted, "We have already learned that those who talk big don't necessarily carry out what they say."
