Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni on Sunday called on the Kadima leadership contenders to remember first and foremost that they are cabinet ministers and had a responsibility toward the economy.
"We must act professionally and responsibly regarding the budget, irrespective of primaries, and to demonstrate stability," she said during a Kadima faction meeting prior to the cabinet discussion on the 2009 budget.
She urged the four contenders to stand up to temptation and not to fold under pressure, stressing, however, that every one of them reserved the right to make changes after the primary according to his/her agenda.
