Livni: Unity is not about the number of ministers or parties
By JPOST.COM STAFF
Kadima leader Tzipi Livni on Monday explained in a party faction meeting at the Knesset why she finally decided against joining a national unity government with the Likud. She said that Kadima would not join a government which would not push for a two-state solution or changes to the system of government.
"Our concept of a national unity government has not changed. It's not about the number of ministers, nor the number of parties in it," she said. "True unity exists when two parties which gained the public's trust come together on an equal basis."
"We cannot say today that there is another option," she added.
