Man allegedly shoots wif

Police suspect a man shot his 30-year-old divorcee Friday morning and then turned the gun on himself, in Jerusalem's Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood. The two were evacuated to hospital in serious condition, the man with a head wound and the wife with neck injuries. The woman managed to flee the house but collapsed on the sidewalk outside, where she was found by municipality cleaners who then called police to the scene. Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated the woman to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. Police officers arriving at the scene found the man in the bedroom of the woman's house, barely conscious with head injuries. He was also taken to the same hospital. A preliminary investigation revealed that the man came to the house early Friday morning and asked the divorced couple's three children, twins aged eight years old and an 11-year-old boy, to leave the house. He then fired a single bullet at his wife's throat with a licensed gun, afterwards turning the gun on himself. Police say there were no previous complaints of abuse from the couple but they were known to welfare authorities.
