A 19-year-old man from the town of Tira in the Sharon District was arrested on Wednesday after being caught attempting to cheat on his driving theory test by using an elaborate hi-tech method to film and transmit the questions and receive the correct answers from accomplices via an earpiece.
The suspect, Yossef Sultan Jassam, had aroused the suspicions of the examiner who noticed a wire sticking out of his collar.
Upon further inspection, the examiner uncovered a thick belt attached to Jassam's waste which carried a number of cell phones, and a wireless camera
taped to his chest.
Jassam had apparently filmed the test questions and transmitted the images in real time to accomplices who had whispered the answers into his earpiece, police said.
His custody was extended by five days by the Kfar Saba Magistrate's Court.
Police said further arrests were expected.
