The Beersheba Magistrate's Court sentenced Micky Schwartztein, 33, to a year in prison on Monday after he was convicted of possessing 18.5 kilograms of marijuana.
Schwartztein, who was caught in possession of the drug at the entrance to the city, planned to pass it on to a dealer.
The 33-year-old was also fined NIS 5,000.
