Man suspected of smuggling opium inside Persian lemons from Iran

A 41-year-old Ashdod resident was arrested in Netanya on Wednesday on suspicion of smuggling opium inside Persian lemons into Israel from Iran, Army Radio reported.
Police confiscated 40 lemons and said that the man planned to distribute the narcotics within Israel as well as overseas.
Police planned to request that the court extend the suspect's remand on Thursday.
