Nahum Manbar, serving a 16-year prison sentence for passing information and selling weapons to Iran, has appealed to the Israel Prisons Service Parole Committee to reassess his request to cut his sentence by a third.
Manbar, who has already served two-thirds of his prison sentence, submitted a psychological report which stated that he had expressed full remorse for his actions.
The court is due to rule on the petition on Wednesday.
Manbar's original appeal in August 2007 was rejected after the state expressed concern that he could once again become a security threat to Israel.
