Mazuz, Lador: Hirchson conviction shows fearless fight against corruption

Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz and State-Attorney Moshe Lador expressed satisfaction Monday over the conviction of former finance minister Avraham Hirchson, saying it showed that the authorities act without fear against senior officials who offend. In a statement released by the two, they said the case was an example of extensive law enforcement work carried out without bias against public office corruption. Hirchson was found guilty on Monday morning on charges of stealing NIS 2.5 million from the National Federation of Workers (NFW) and its subsidiary, Nili, between 1998 and 2005.
