Minister-without-portfolio Ami Ayalon submitted his resignation from the government during Sunday's cabinet meeting, after Labor demanded that he give up the position that he received as a party member.
Ayalon left the Labor party recently.
In his resignation letter, Ayalon lashed out at his colleagues, saying that: "It is unfortunate that politics defeated the professional considerations of completing projects I have dealt with."
