Missing his family, Heftsiba CEO Yona plans to return to Israel

Heftsiba construction company CEO Boaz Yona plans to give up his fight against extradition from Italy and return to Israel, Israeli media reported Sunday. The reason for Yona's decision was said to be the prolonged detachment from his family in Israel. Yona, who is suspected of embezzling large sums of money and being responsible for the collapse of Heftsiba, fled Israel shortly before his company crumbled under debts in August 2007. He was later arrested in Italy after Israeli authorities issued an arrest warrant and a request for his extradition. An Italian court approved Israel's request but Yona had appealed to the Italian Supreme Court. Dan Izenberg contributed to this report
