Mizrahi women account for .5% of female professors

Women of mizrahi (Oriental) background account for only one-half of one percent of all female college and university professors in Israel, a recent study revealed. The research was conducted by Iris Zarili, who at first met with a refusal on the part of most of the country's academic institutions to provide data on professors' ethnicity, Army Radio reported Thursday. Zarili then resorted to faculty lists and contacted over 500 women professors to ask if they were of mizrahi background or knew of any women in academia who were.
