MK Paz-Pines: Lieberman as foreign minister would damage Israel's image

MK Ophir Paz-Pines blasted the coalition negotiations on Thursday, saying that Israel Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman becoming foreign minister would be a mistake that would damage Israel's image and take years to fix. The Labor MK also attacked the reported "compromise" between the Likud and Israel Beiteinu, in which the latter party was said to show flexibility on its insistence that Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann continue in his role. "The fact that Israel Beiteinu will have the Justice and Public Security portfolios, as well as another MK on the committee which appoints justices, means that the future of investigators, prosecutors and judges will, for the most part, be in Lieberman's hands," Paz-Pines said.
