Likud Chairman and opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu said "if it was up to me, Yigal Amir would never be released from prison," Army Radio reported. Amir is serving a life sentence for shooting and killing Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin on November 4, 1995. In other news, Netanyahu said that he turned to Shas Chairman and Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Eli Yishai and to Israeli Beitenu leader and Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Lieberman and told them they do not belong in Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's government. "I told my friends: You do not share [this government's] vision, but you give it legitimacy by being part of it - your place is not there," Netanyahu told the radio station.
