Olmert spokesman: Former PM needs 'immediate' treatment for cancer

A series of medical tests that Ehud Olmert underwent in the US in recent days indicated that his prostate cancer has worsened, according to the former prime minister's media adviser Amir Dan.
In a statement released Sunday, Dan said that Olmert required immediate treatment.
The spokesman said that the tests showed that the tumor in his prostate gland has grown, and "requires immediate treatment."
Dan added that a decision on treatment would be made as soon as Olmert returns from the US. Options include radiation, surgery or a combination.
Olmert, 63, made his prostate cancer condition public in October 2007.
