Prime Minister Ehud Olmert spoke with US President George W. Bush by telephone for the first time since the war began.
Olmert thanked Bush for his work on the UN Security Council resolution for a cease-fire between Hizbullah and Israel.
In the eight-minute conversation, Bush "expressed his view that the crisis was provoked by Hezbollah with the support of Iran and Syria,"
National Security Council spokesman Frederick Jones said.
