PM: The IDF is a better army than it was last year
By JPOST.COM STAFF
The IDF today is different than the military of last year, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Wednesday morning in the session of the ministerial committee overseeing the implementation of the Winograd Committee recommendations, Israel Radio reported.
The IDF was training differently and working to implement the lessons of the Second Lebanon War, Olmert said.
The prime minister also said that the ministerial committee would discuss whether to empower by law the National Security Agency, and whether to establish a national crisis center, which would update the prime minister directly and in real time, so as to allow him to make crucial decisions on a more informed basis.
