PM: We have given more than enough to evacuees

Settlers evacuated in the 2005 disengagement from Gaza have received more than enough reparations, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said at the Knesset on Wednesday afternoon. Olmert was responding to accusations made by Knesset members during a plenum forum that the country had failed to adequately compensate the evacuees. "You said that you are one of the disengagement's initiators, [and as such] are responsible for being personally involved in the issue," said MK Uri Ariel (NU/NRP). "We must dramatically change the process of caring for the evacuees and establish a precise timetable for permanent housing," said MK Ze'ev Elkin (Kadima).
