Jerusalem police arrested on Wednesday a 48-year old psychologically deranged Israeli man suspected of posing as the prime minister's media advisor, police said.
The suspect, speaking fluent English, allegedly sent out notices about a purported conference the premier and other ministers were to attend next week, and had also harassed the Tourism Minster last week, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
The suspect, who told police he served as the prime minister's advisor until he was fired, was previously committed to a psychiatric institution for a five-month period by a court order.
He was brought to a Jerusalem court Wednesday for a remand hearing.
