Police to impose restrictions on Friday's Temple Mount prayers

For the second week in a row, Jerusalem police will be imposing restrictions on Muslim entrance to the Temple Mount on Friday due to heightened tensions over the IDF operation in Gaza, police said. All Arab men under the age of 50 will be barred from the midday prayers due to security concerns, although women of any age will be allowed into the compound. In an effort to thwart violence, thousands of police will also be deployed throughout the Old City. Police sporadically close off the site to younger male Arabs on Fridays during times of high tensions and following multiple alerts over possible violence at the site.
