Ramon insists Kadima closer to Israel Beiteinu than Likud is

Any attempt by Likud to present its positions as being close to those of Israel Beiteinu is totally baseless, Vice Premier Haim Ramon insisted Tuesday, saying that on civil issues, Likud was bound by Shas. Speaking to Israel Radio, Ramon added that Likud could not back Israel Beiteinu's push for civil unions, changes to the electoral system and conversions easements, and therefore, Binyamin Netanyahu's party still hadn't responded to its list of demands. Ramon claimed that the positions of Avigdor Lieberman's party were closest to those of Kadima, although there was still no agreement regarding Israel Beiteinu's much-touted citizenship bill proposal since it was a "complicated and complex issue."
