The first weekend of summer vacation proved a busy one for police in the Tel Aviv area. A 17-year-old youth was shot and moderately wounded in Rishon Lezion in a fight over money. Two suspects in their twenties have been arrested. In Bat Yam, a 16-year-old was moderately wounded in a stabbing, the circumstances of which were unknown. Police in south Tel Aviv arrested nine youths in possession of large quantities of drugs and what appeared to be stolen electronic equipment. Not far from the site of the arrest, two cars were set on fire and damaged. In Ramle, two other cars were set on fire in the latest in a series of arson attempts on vehicles. No one was reported wounded in the incidents.
