Steinmeier invites Livni to address the EU

Germany's visiting foreign minister on Monday invited counterpart Tzipi Livni to discuss the Middle East peace process at an upcoming meeting of EU foreign ministers. German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, whose government currently holds the presidency of the European Union, extended the invitation during talks with Livni. "I told Tzipi today that I'd like the Israeli foreign minister to seize the opportunity, to present her views to the European foreign ministers one more time," he said at a joint news conference with Livni. Next week, a delegation of Arab League officials is scheduled to meet in Brussels with European foreign ministers to discuss a recently revived Arab peace plan, Steinmeier.
