Police on Monday morning detained a 15-year-old youth from Kalansuwa, an Arab Israeli village in the center of the country, on suspicion of murdering his 20-year-old sister for 'violating' the family's honor.
The arrest took place after the father of the family called the police station in Taibe and said "my son murdered his sister", according to police reports.
Upon receiving the call, police officers rushed to the scene, where they found the father and the 15-year-old near the body of the 20-year-old woman.
Police suspect that the murder was committed following an argument that broke out between the siblings on Sunday night, when the sister planned to go out and her brother objected.
The youth, who was still holding the alleged murder weapon, was taken in for questioning.
