Three lives saved by organs of drowning victim

The heart, liver and lung of a 22-year-old man who drowned last Saturday - one of five people to drown over the weekend - have been transplanted into three patients. The organs were "harvested" at Tzrifi'ns Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, where the young man was brought by Magen David Adom ambulance. A 63-year-old man received the heart at Sheba Medical Center; a 61-year-old man received the lung and a 57-year-old man received the liver at the Rabin Medical Center. The donor's mother said her son would have wanted to donate his organs because he received good marks in school and was always considerate of other people.
