Tibi meets with Carter, discusses 'inequality' of Arab Israelis

MK Ahmed Tibi (UAL) met with former US president Jimmy Carter in Jerusalem on Monday. Carter presented Tibi with the results of his meetings with Hamas head Khaled Mashaal and Syrian President Bashar Assad. The former US president emphasized the importance of Hamas's agreement to a state within the 1967 borders as well as to a referendum about an agreement with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Tibi used the opportunity to expand on the situation of Arabs in Israel, claiming that they face discrimination and inequality in every aspect of life. Carter said that Americans are aware of the situation faced by Arab citizens and suggested raising the issue with the American people.
